The Pit River Watershed Alliance Stewardship Award recognizes landowners and land managers in promoting sound and innovative natural resource stewardship practices that help sustain the environment and enhance productivity and profitability in the Pit River Watershed.

The Pit River Watershed Alliance Stewardship Award will be an annual award starting in 2004. The award winner will partner with the PRWA to help organize a tour to view the conservation practices of the land owner/manager. A revolving exhibit at the River Center in Alturas will showcase and highlight the landowner/manager’s conservation practices.

The selection committee is composed of formal partners of the Pit River Watershed Alliance and any potential sponsors of the award. Awards of excellence may be awarded in addition to the PRWA Stewardship Award.

Self-nominations and nominations from other people are both acceptable.

Please download an application (44k Word File) or contact James Rickert for additional questions.
