Lassen Creek is a major spawning stream for Goose Lake redband trout and other fishes of the Goose Lake Basin. To improve instream conditions for fish, structural improvements were designed and placed in Lassen Creek in the early 1980s. Some of these improvements (log weirs, boulders) are still noticeable today. Perhaps the greatest recovery was the result of a change in the season of use by livestock (early in the year from fall use) and a reduction in the intensity of use.
